To maintain a steering rack, regularly check power steering fluid levels, avoid hitting pothole and if notice power steering fluid got less or in low level please check immediately to avoid serious damage for power steering pump and steering rack, drive cautiously on rough roads, have your wheel alignment checked often, and listen for unusual noises or vibrations while steering, as these could indicate a problem with the rack, if you notice any issues, get them inspected by a mechanic promptly.

How long can steering rack last?

In general, a steering rack can last anywhere from 2 to 5 years base on driving condition(100,000mileage to 150,000).
